Domain management

Creating domains

  1. Names in the umk.pl domain representing NCU units or projects implemented at the NCU are registered at the request of the NCU employee. The application must be confirmed by the rector, dean or head of the university or inter-faculty unit. The name is registered for a period of 3 years. A functional account is created to operate the subdomain, which is owned by the applicant.
  2. Names in the umk.pl domain representing student organizations or student projects implemented at the Nicolaus Copernicus University are registered at the request of the NCU employee or student. The application must be confirmed by the rector or dean. The name is registered for the duration of the academic year. For the subdomain operation purposed a functional account is created. This account is owned by the applicant.
  3. Names representing the individual activity of NCU employees are registered in the prac.umk.pl domain at the request of the NCU employee by email or telephone. An employee's personal NCU CN account is used to service the subdomain.

Deleting domains

  1. When the domain expires or the account designated for its service expires, a verification procedure is started to check if the domain is still needed and whether the assigned guardian is still responsible for it. If it is determined that the domain should be removed, the administrator of the NCU sends a notification to the appropriate function person (rector, dean, etc., depending on who approved the first domain application).
  2. Names in the prac.umk.pl domain are deregistered when the NCU CN employee account expires.
